The Human Rights Programme aims at using strategic legal action, policy solutions, education, and advocacy to promote human rights and support people and communities to eliminate inequality and injustice and build a fairer, more compassionate society. The centre monitors the implementation of Fundamental and Human Rights as an independent expert regarding chosen themes. The Centre works with key partners, communities, law firms, academics and experts, and human rights organisations.

There is high demand from the society now for ethical lawyering and that lawyers and judges must always exercise moral judgment irrespective of the pressures from and within the society. In this context it has been stated that lawyers must take “personal moral responsibility for the consequences of their professional acts" too.

The Lawyers for Lawyers’ Integrity Programme focuses on projects that will make lawyers and judges not only become conscious of the traits of character that ethical lawyers must possess which make them able to fulfil their moral responsibilities but also the obligations of ethical lawyering.

The Purpose of the National Ethics and Integrity Policy has been stated in the Policy document as a policy “… necessary to strengthen efforts at positive national transformation. This is possible when all citizens and those who relate with Nigeria imbibe and embody these core values. The country can reach national development goals when we reframe the meaning of the national purpose and adopt frames of mind, attitudes, behaviours, choices and actions based on the demands of national core values.”

The National Ethics Programme of the Centre will continue to monitor, investigate, interrogate and challenge all aspects of the National Ethics and Integrity Policy, its application and practices to all aspects and sectors of life in Nigeria.

The Teen Court Programme is mainly a law clinic project that is focused on teens and young persons in educational institutions through youth courts projects and rule of law programmes.
Both the teen courts projects and Rule of law programmes empowers young people by providing practical information about law and the legal system; encourages young persons to become effective, law-abiding citizens by promoting civic responsibility and community participation.

KMAN Law and Justice Centre’s Governance Programme areas of work are related to human development, democratic governance, and conflict prevention to support policy development and applied research, with an overarching focus on democratic governance and peacebuilding, conflict, and transitional contexts. We also undertake innovative research into all aspects of the law, politics, government, and political economy.

The Programme for Access to Justice engages in research, legal education, advocacy, public interest litigation, dialogue, and policy initiatives to promote the important values of access to justice and inclusion and advance access to justice and justice.
The Centre responds to limitations in traditional legal processes by exploring alternative forms of justice including indigenous justice, as strategies to achieve justice in ways that challenge and exceed formal legal representation.
